Consultations
Dr. Kirmse offers parent consultations to help with concerns and find solutions for their children. A consultation can determine if a child needs further evaluation or assist parents with questions from recent evaluations. It provides clarity and guidance for parents on next steps. Please note that consultations do not provide diagnoses or determine eligibility for specific services.
Review FIEs
Once your school district finishes a Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE), some families may want to consult to understand how the results affect their child’s education. Some school evaluation reports are clear and easy to read, while others can be complicated. If you have trouble understanding the report or what it means, we can help.
Dr. Kirmse offers second opinions for families who have concerns about school assessment results.

Review IEPs
During IEP (Individualized Education Program) or ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings, the school district provides parents with documents that include evaluation results and classroom performance data. This paperwork is important for identifying your child’s educational needs and creating a support plan. After the meetings, Dr. Kirmse can help parents review the documents. The aim is to make sure your child receives the right accommodations and support for academic success and growth.
Dr. Kirmse is also available to attend school meetings with parents.
IEE
An Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) is an assessment of a child’s educational needs done by a qualified professional who is not connected to the child’s school or district. Parents can ask for an IEE if they disagree with a school evaluation or believe a more thorough and unbiased assessment is necessary.
